Breaking News: Early Details Of Powerball® Results In Iowa

CLIVE, Iowa – Early details show that Iowa Lottery players won nearly 50,000 prizes in Saturday's Powerball jackpot drawing, and the game's giant top prize ended up being even higher than the latest estimates leading into the drawing.

The Iowa winners included one ticket that came within one number of having at least a share of the jackpot. Strong sales nationwide pushed Saturday's jackpot to $541.9 million annuity, or $343.2 million lump-sum option. Full details, including the locations where the big winning tickets were sold in Iowa and whether there was a jackpot winner nationwide, will be available Sunday.

By tracking sales, lottery officials can estimate how many of the possible combinations have been purchased for a particular drawing. About 32 percent of all the possible combinations were purchased in Saturday's drawing.
