CLIVE, Iowa — A southern Iowa woman has won a $30,000 lottery prize.
Crystal Simmons of Centerville won the fourth top prize in the Iowa Lottery's "Peppermint Crossword" scratch game. She purchased her winning ticket at Casey's, 105 S. 18th St. in Centerville, and claimed her prize Wednesday at the lottery's main office in Clive.
Peppermint Crossword is a $3 holiday-themed scratch game that features nine top prizes of $30,000 and overall odds of 1 in 3.80.
From now until 9:59 a.m. on Jan. 7, players can enter nonwinning holiday-themed lottery tickets into a second-chance promotion for a chance to win a share of $1 million in cash prizes. For more information, visit www.ialottery.com.
