John Hayes Claims Top Prize In 'UNO™' Scratch Game

John Hayes

John Hayes of Bellevue won a top prize in the “UNO™” scratch game from the Iowa Lottery and licensed by Scientific Games, LLC. He purchased his winning ticket at Chib Mart, 802 S. Riverview St. in Bellevue, and claimed his prize Monday at the lottery's Cedar Rapids regional office.

Based on the classic card game, UNO is a $3 scratch game that offers prizes from $3 to $30,000. The game features 10 top prizes of $30,000 and overall odds of 1 in 3.79. For more information about this game, and the number of prizes still available, visit www.ialottery.com.

Since the lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $6.3 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $2.6 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.

Today, lottery proceeds help our state in multiple ways. They help Iowa veterans and their families through the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. They help the families of Iowa peace officers, firefighters and corrections employees who die in the line of duty. And they provide help for a variety of significant projects through the state General Fund.
