CLIVE, Iowa – An Altoona man has won a $250,000 lottery prize.

Chad Keller claimed the 12th of 18 top prizes of $250,000 available in the Iowa Lottery's "$250,000 Riches" scratch game. He claimed his prize Friday at the lottery's headquarters in Clive.

Keller bought his winning ticket at Git-N-Go, 2221 Adventureland Drive in Altoona.

The $250,000 Riches scratch game is a $20 ticket. More details about how to play this game, and number of prizes still up for grabs in it can be found on the Iowa Lottery's website, www.ialottery.com.

Since the lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $5.7 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $2.4 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.

Today, lottery proceeds help our state in multiple ways. They help Iowa veterans and their families through the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. They help the families of Iowa peace officers, firefighters and corrections employees who die in the line of duty. And they provide help for a variety of significant projects through the state General Fund.
