For A Limited Time,
Players Who Only Match Five Numbers Can Win Up To $2 Million
DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Lottery's Power Play 10X promotion is back by popular
demand! Powerball players can increase their non-jackpot prizes even more when they purchase
the Power Play option during the month of April.
“This is the third year the Iowa Lottery has offered the Power Play 10X
promotion,” said Iowa Lottery Acting CEO Ken Brickman. “We find our players really
enjoy having the chance to multiply their prizes up to ten times, so we decided to do it
again!”
Just before the Powerball numbers are drawn, the Power Play wheel is spun. Normally, slots on
the wheel list the numbers 2 through 5, indicating the amount prizes (except the jackpot) will be
multiplied if that number is drawn. The cost is $1 per play.
For a limited time, one of the four “5s” on the Power Play wheel will be replaced
by a “10.” That means Iowa Lottery players can multiply any prize they win by 10
times! For example, if a player wins a $100 prize and the Power Play number is “10,”
that player would win $1,000. A $200,000 prize with a Power Play of “10” would be
multiplied to $2 million! Jackpot prizes are not eligible for this promotion.
The Power Play 10X promotion starts Sunday and runs through April 30. The first drawing with a
“10” on the Power Play wheel will be Wednesday. The promotion will run for at least
nine drawings or until the “10” on the Power Play wheel is drawn at least once. The
“10” could be drawn up to nine times during the promotion. At the end of the
promotion, if the “10” has been hit, it will be replaced by the original
“5.” However, if the wheel does not land on “10” during a drawing in April, the
promotion will continue until it is drawn.
