Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in Ankeny Will Expire Soon
DES MOINES, Iowa - It's been almost a year and still no one has claimed a
$10,000-winning Powerball ticket sold at an Ankeny convenience store. The prize will expire if
someone does not claim it by April 11.
The $10,000-winning ticket was sold at Quik Trip, 802 E. First St. in Ankeny, for the Powerball
drawing on April 11, 2007. The ticket matched four numbers and the Powerball. The winning
numbers for that drawing were: 6-15-38-42-51 and Powerball 18.
As of Wednesday, no one had claimed the prize. The owner has until 4 p.m. April 11 to come
forward and validate the ticket.
The Iowa Lottery is reminding players to check and double-check any tickets they may have, as
significant prizes can be at stake. For example, despite numerous reminder efforts by the Iowa
Lottery, a $10,000-winning Powerball ticket sold in Dubuque expired on St. Patrick's Day.
“We hate to see prizes expire,” said Iowa Lottery Acting CEO Ken Brickman.
“We do everything we can to get the message out to the public when there is money to be
claimed. We hope our reminder efforts for this ticket will pay off.”
Players in Iowa have up to 365 days from the date of the drawing to claim Powerball and Hot
Lotto prizes. Players have up to 90 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes in the
$100,000 Cash Game, as well as Pick 3 and Pick 4 games. If the expiration date falls on a weekend,
the lottery gives the winner until the close of business on the following Monday to turn in the ticket.
Tickets for these Iowa Lottery prizes also have yet to be claimed:
