New Game Offers Eight Top Prizes of $1,000,000
DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Lottery has released a new instant-scratch game that offers players
several chances at $1 million. The “Set for Life” instant-scratch game offers eight top
prizes of $1 million.
“This is the first time we've offered so many top prizes of $1 million on an
instant-scratch ticket,” said Joe Hrdlicka, Vice President of Marketing. “We're very
excited to offer a game that will make eight lucky players ‘set for life.’”
With more than $17 million in prizes available, the game offers eight top prizes of $1 million, 17
prizes of $10,000, and more than 316,000 prizes of $1,000 or less.
Iowa Lottery representatives began to deliver the game to retailers on Monday and by Friday, it
will be available at lottery retailers throughout Iowa.
The Set for Life instant-scratch game is a $20 game. When players match any of “their
numbers” to any “winning number,” they win the prize shown for that play area.
If they find a “$$” symbol, they win the prize shown instantly. The overall odds of
winning in the game are about 1 in 3.
Players who win the $1 million top prize have the option of taking the prize as an annuity or
lump-sum payment. If the winner chooses to take the annuity, he/she will be paid $40,000 per year for
a period of 25 years. If the winner chooses to receive the lump-sum payment, he/she will receive
$650,000 before taxes.
Grand prizes must be claimed at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Des Moines.
