DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Lottery is ending one of its lotto games to replace it with a new product that will continue to offer a top prize of $100,000.

The final drawing in Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game will be on Saturday, Jan. 25. The lottery is putting the finishing touches on the game that will replace it and will make that announcement soon.

"The $100,000 Cash Game has had a core group of players, but its sales are well down from its early days," said Lottery CEO Terry Rich. "As we've done with other games through the years, we think that by refreshing this product, we can bring in an interesting new concept for players to check out. We'll definitely continue to offer a game with a top prize of $100,000."

As the end date for the Cash Game approaches, players will notice that the number of plays they can buy for its drawings in advance will decrease. Starting today, advance plays will be limited to 24 and will continue to decrease by one for each subsequent drawing until the game's end.

Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game is a lotto game that has been offered exclusively in Iowa since January 1992. It has drawings at about 8:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Plays cost $1 and players choose five numbers from a pool of 35. Prizes in the game range from $1 up to $100,000.

The lottery will have an announcement soon about a replacement game, which will have the same $1 price point with multiple drawings per week
