DES MOINES, Iowa - A Texas man who was born and raised in northwest Iowa is once again paying it forward after winning another big lottery prize.

It's a practice Robert Mead, 50, of Roxton, Texas started when he won a $100,000 prize in July 2012 on an instant-scratch ticket from Colorado and continued when he won a $100,000 lottery prize this past June in Texas. And now Mead, an over-the-road trucker who travels across the country, has won a $100,000 Iowa Lottery prize.

He said it's given him a good feeling to share some of his winnings with others each time he has claimed a big lottery prize.

"I told my wife that if I could win one more time, I'm going to give the house away," Mead told lottery employees Friday as he claimed his latest big prize at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Des Moines. "I'm going to give the house away to somebody that deserves it. There's a young couple with five kids. I'm going to call them when I get to the truck and let them know."

Mead claimed the sixth of 10 top prizes of $100,000 available in the lottery's "Blazing Hot 7s Game Book" instant-scratch game.

Mead said that he and his wife, Faye, have been trying to sell their northeast Texas home for about two years now. They plan to move to Louisiana to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Mead purchased a small acreage in Louisiana with his first $100,000 lottery win and then purchased a home to put on his acreage with a portion of his second $100,000 lottery prize.

"And this time I'll be giving away about a $30,000 house," he said speaking of their current home in Texas.

Mead said he got a feeling to purchase a scratch ticket during a recent stop for fuel at Pilot Travel Center, 2086 Atalissa Road in Atalissa.

"My conscience kept telling me to buy one ticket," he said. "It just kept pushing me to buy that one ticket, so I gave in and bought the one ticket."

Mead said he scratched off his ticket and couldn't believe he had won a $100,000 top prize for the third time.

"I looked at it and I couldn't believe it - three times," he said through tears.

Mead said he took his winning ticket back inside the retailer to have it verified before he shared his good news with his parents, who live near Sioux City, and his wife.

"(My wife) she keeps yelling at me and screaming and telling me that I'm lying to her," he said. "She didn't believe it. It's kind of hard to believe that you won."

Blazing Hot 7s Game Book, a $20 instant-scratch ticket, is the second game book product offered by the lottery. Each ticket in the game is actually a booklet with multiple games spread across six pages. The game's top prize is $100,000 and players can win multiple times in each booklet.

Blazing Hot 7s Game Book tickets will be void if any pages are separated from the book. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 2.52.

Four top prizes of $100,000 are still up for grabs in Blazing Hot 7s Game Book, along with three prizes of $10,000, 238 prizes of $1,000 and hundreds of prizes from $100 to $500.
