DES MOINES, Iowa – A Cedar Falls man has won the first top prize playing the Iowa Lottery's "Super 7's" instant-scratch game.

John Lang claimed his prize Friday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. He purchased his winning ticket at Go America, 1906 Third Ave. S.E. in Independence.

Super 7's is a $2 scratch game. Players win a prize by matching any of "Your Numbers" to either "Winning Number" and win the prize shown for that number. If players find the "Lightning Bolt" symbol, they win that prize instantly. If they find the "7X" symbol, they win seven times the prize amount shown for that symbol.

Eight prizes of $14,000 are still up for grabs in Super 7's as well as 26 prizes of $700, more than 200 prizes of $140 and more than 325 prizes of $70.

Since the Iowa Lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $2.4 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $1.2 billion for state programs.
