DES MOINES, Iowa – A Fairfield man won the top prize of $30,000 playing the Iowa Lottery's "Treasure Hunter" instant-scratch game.

Ralph Morgan claimed his prize Monday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. He purchased his winning ticket at Kum & Go, 1800 W. Burlington in Fairfield.

Treasure Hunter is a $3 scratch game. Players win a prize by first uncovering the "Coordinates For Treasure Map" and then uncovering the corresponding squares on the "Treasure Map." If a player completely uncovers a symbol, they win the prize shown in the prize legend for that symbol. Players can win up to $30,000. The overall odds of winning in the game are about 1 in 3.93.

One prize of $30,000 is still up for grabs in Treasure Hunter as well as two prizes of $3,000 and more than 60 prizes of $300.

Since the Iowa Lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $2.4 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $1.2 billion for state programs.
