Linda Drewelow Wins in March 15 Hot Lotto Drawing
DES MOINES, Iowa - A Chickasaw County woman couldn’t believe her luck when she won a
$10,000 lottery prize.
Linda Drewelow of Ionia won $10,000 in the March 15 Hot Lotto® drawing. She purchased
the winning ticket at Hy-Vee Gas, 1003 Kelly St. in Charles City and claimed her prize at the Iowa
Lottery's regional office in Mason City.
“I didn't believe it,” she said. “I was at Kwik Star in New Hampton and
they had to look it up to see what the winning numbers were… it was kind of a shock.”
Drewelow said she can already picture what she'll buy with her prize money.
“I've always wanted a really fancy camera,” she said. “So I'm
going to get a nice camera and my husband gets to have a new guitar! I can't wait.”
Hot Lotto players choose five numbers from a pool of 39 and another number, called the Hot
Ball, from a pool of 19. The Hot Lotto jackpot starts at $1 million and grows until someone wins it.
Tickets in the game cost $1. Hot Lotto drawings are held at about 9:40 p.m. on Wednesdays and
Saturdays, just before the Powerball drawings. Overall odds to win a prize are 1 in 16 and 1 in 10.9
million to win the jackpot.
Winning numbers for the March 22 Hot Lotto drawing were 12-14-28-30-33. The winning Hot Ball
was 7.
If Drewelow had played the Hot Lotto Sizzler®, she would have won $30,000!
Players can increase their prizes by three times (except the jackpot) with the Hot Lotto Sizzler.
The cost is $1 per play. Prizes are always tripled with the Hot Lotto Sizzler.
Winning numbers may be checked by calling the lottery at (515) 725-7900 from 8 a.m. to 4:30
