Michael Plummer Wins in April 9 Powerball Drawing
DES MOINES, Iowa - A Polk County man has claimed a large lottery prize.
Michael Plummer of Des Moines won $10,000 in the April 9 Powerball® drawing. He
purchased the winning ticket at Shortstop, 3501 E. 14th St. in Des Moines.
Plummer claimed his prize at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Des Moines.
The winning Powerball numbers for the April 9 drawing were: 3-13-19-32-46. The Powerball
was 18. The Power Play® multiplier was 4.
If Plummer had played the Power Play option, he would have won $40,000!
Players can increase their prizes with the Power Play (except the jackpot) up to five times. The
cost is $1 per play.
Just before the Powerball numbers are drawn, the Power Play wheel is spun. Slots on the
wheel list the numbers 2 through 5, indicating the amount prizes (except the jackpot) will be
multiplied if that number is drawn.
For a limited time, one of the four “5s” on the Power Play wheel will be replaced
by a “10.” That means Iowa Lottery players can multiply any prize they win by 10
times! For example, if a player wins a $100 prize and the Power Play number is “10,”
that player would win $1,000. A $200,000 prize with a Power Play of “10” would be
multiplied to $2 million! Jackpot prizes are not eligible for this promotion.
The Power Play 10X promotion began March 30 and runs through April 30. The promotion will
run for at least nine drawings or until the “10” on the Power Play wheel is drawn at
least once. The “10” could be drawn multiple times during the promotion. At the end
of the promotion, if the “10” has been hit, it will be replaced by the original
“5.” However, if the wheel does not land on “10” during a drawing in
April, the promotion will continue until it is drawn.
