DES MOINES, Iowa – A Kansas couple won the top prize of $50,000 playing the "Pinball" scratch game.

William and Kay McCleary of Fredonia, Kan., claimed their prize Friday at the Iowa Lottery headquarters in Des Moines. They purchased their winning ticket at the Git-N-Go convenience store, 3302 S. Center St. in Marshalltown.

Pinball is a $5 double-play game with an instant-scratch game on the front and a pull-tab game on the back. There are three play areas. The overall odds of winning in the game are about 1 in 3.85.

Two top prizes of $50,000 have yet to be claimed in Pinball, along with more than 15 prizes of $1,000, and 53 prizes of $250 and more than 150 prizes of $100.

Since the Iowa Lottery's inception in 1985, more than $2.2 billion has been awarded in prizes and more than $1.1 billion has been raised for state programs.
