Paul Karr Wins in April 9 Hot Lotto Drawing
DES MOINES, Iowa - A Tama County man has won a steamy lottery prize.
Paul Karr of Dysart won $10,000 in the April 9 Hot Lotto® drawing. He purchased the
winning ticket at John's Qwik Stop, 702 Wilson St. in Dysart.
Karr claimed his prize Tuesday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.
Hot Lotto players choose five numbers from a pool of 39 and another number, called the Hot
Ball, from a pool of 19. The Hot Lotto jackpot starts at $1 million and grows until someone wins it.
Tickets in the game cost $1. Hot Lotto drawings are held at about 9:40 p.m. on Wednesdays and
Saturdays, just before the Powerball drawings. Overall odds to win a prize are 1 in 16 and 1 in 10.9
million to win the jackpot.
Winning numbers for the April 9 Hot Lotto drawing were 10-15-17-26-35. The winning Hot Ball
was 3.
If Karr had played the Hot Lotto Sizzler®, he would have won $30,000!
Players can increase their prizes with the Hot Lotto Sizzler (except the jackpot) by three times.
The cost is $1 per play. Prizes are always tripled with the Hot Lotto Sizzler.
Winning numbers may be checked by calling the lottery at (515) 725-7900 from 8 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. Winning numbers may also be checked through the winning numbers' hot line at
(515) 323-4633, at the lottery Web site at www.ialottery.com or with lottery retail outlets.
Players may visit the Iowa Lottery at 2323 Grand Ave. in Des Moines or go to one of the lottery's
regional offices in Council Bluffs, Storm Lake, Mason City or Cedar Rapids to claim prizes.
