Julia WilliamsJulia Williams Wins Top Prize in "Goin' Green" Scratch Game

DES MOINES, Iowa – A Montezuma woman has won the top prize of $10,000 playing the "Goin' Green" scratch game.

Julia Williams claimed her prize Friday at the Iowa Lottery's headquarters in Des Moines. Williams purchased her winning scratch ticket at Casey's, 409 N. Front St. in Montezuma.

Goin' Green is a $2 scratch game. Players win a prize by matching any of "Your Numbers" to either "Winning Number" and win the prize shown for that number. If players uncover the "dollar bill" symbol they win double the prize shown. The overall odds of winning in the game are about 1 in 3.75.

Six prizes of $10,000 are still up for grabs in Goin' Green as well as more than 45 prizes of $500.

Since the Iowa Lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $2.2 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $1.1 billion for state programs.
