Nancy Erdman Wins $20,000 Prize in Scratch Game

DES MOINES, Iowa - A Marshall County woman has won a significant prize playing the Iowa Lottery's “$35 Million Cash Spectacular” instant-scratch game.

Nancy Erdman of Marshalltown won a $20,000 playing the game. She purchased her ticket at Kum & Go, 1116 Nevada St. in Marshalltown.

Erdman claimed her prize at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Des Moines.

The $35 Million Cash Spectacular is a $10 game. If a player matches any of “their numbers” to any “winning number,” he/she wins the prize shown for that play area. If a player finds a “star” symbol, he/she wins the prize shown instantly. The overall odds of winning in the game are about 1 in 3.

The $35 Million Cash Spectacular began with more than 1.4 million available prizes. Four top prizes of $250,000 are still up for grabs. Approximately 20 prizes of $20,000, more than 40 prizes of $10,000, more than 750 prizes of $1,000, more than 2,200 prizes of $500, approximately 5,600 prizes of $200 and more than 22,000 prizes of $100 are also still available for players to claim.

Since the Iowa Lottery's inception in 1985, more than $2.1 billion has been awarded in prizes and more than $1.1 billion has been raised for state programs.
