DES MOINES, Iowa - A southwest Iowa man has won a large prize in a new Iowa Lottery scratch game.

Russell Gilbert of Hamburg won $10,000 playing the “Indiana Jones™” instant-scratch game. He purchased the winning ticket at Kum & Go, 1303 Sheridan Ave. in Shenandoah.

Gilbert claimed the prize at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Council Bluffs.

Indiana Jones™ is a $2 scratch game. Players try to match any of “their numbers” to either of the “winning numbers” to win the prize shown for that number.

The overall odds of winning in the game are 1 in 3.65.

Gilbert claimed the second top prize in the game. Eight top prizes of $10,000 have yet to be claimed in the game, along with approximately 330 prizes of $100.

Since the Iowa Lottery's inception in 1985, more than $2.1 billion has been awarded in prizes and more than $1.1 billion has been raised for state programs.
