CEDAR RAPIDS MAN WINS $50,000

Ozie Eggelton Wins Top Prize in New Double-Play Game

DES MOINES, Iowa - An eastern Iowa man has won a large prize in a new Iowa Lottery game.

Ozie Eggelton of Cedar Rapids won $50,000 playing the “Pinball” double-play game. He purchased the winning ticket at Al's Sunoco Service, 3400 Johnson Ave. N.W. in Cedar Rapids.

Eggelton claimed the prize at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.

Pinball is a $5 double-play game with an instant-scratch game on the front and a pull-tab game on the back. There are three play areas. In the number match area, players try to match any of “their ball numbers” to any of the “bumper numbers” to win the prize shown for that number. In the “Bonus” area, if a player matches any of “their ball numbers” to the “bonus number,” he/she wins $50 instantly. In the pull-tab area on the back of the ticket, if the player matches three like symbols under the same window, he/she wins the corresponding prize in the prize legend. The overall odds of winning in the game are 1 in 3.85.

Eggelton claimed the second top prize in the game. Eight top prizes of $50,000 have yet to be claimed in the game, along with approximately 90 prizes of $1,000, approximately 275 prizes of $250 and about 900 prizes of $100.

Since the Iowa Lottery's inception in 1985, more than $2.1 billion has been awarded in prizes and more than $1.1 billion has been raised for state programs.
