Wayne KnightWayne Knight Wins Top Prize of $50,000 Playing the "Pinball" Scratch Game

DES MOINES, Iowa – A Cedar Rapids man won the top prize of $50,000 playing the "Pinball" instant scratch game.

Wayne Knight claimed his prize Monday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. He purchased his winning ticket at Casey's, 130 41st Ave. Drive S.W. in Cedar Rapids.

Pinball is a $5 double-play game with an instant-scratch game on the front and a pull-tab game on the back. There are three play areas. The overall odds of winning in the game are about 1 in 3.85.

One top prize of $50,000 has yet to be claimed in Pinball, along with 15 prizes of $1,000, and more than 45 prizes of $250 and more than 125 prizes of $100.

Since the Iowa Lottery's inception in 1985, its players have won more than $2.2 billion in prizes while more than $1.1 billion has been raised for state programs.
