DES MOINES, Iowa - A Fort Madison man won a top prize of $30,000 playing the lottery's "Crossword" instant-scratch game.

Leon Wilson claimed his prize July 25 at the Iowa Lottery's headquarters in Des Moines. He purchased his winning ticket Casey's, 1428 38th St. in Fort Madison.

Since the lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $3 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $1.4 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.
