DES MOINES, Iowa - A southeast Iowa woman has won big playing a lottery scratch game.

Peggy Clark of Wayland won the top prize of $25,000 in the Iowa Lottery's “7's Bingo” instant-scratch game. She purchased her winning ticket at the Corner Stop at 100 E. Madison St. in Washington and claimed her prize Wednesday at the lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.

7's Bingo is a $2 scratch game. Players try to match numbers from a “caller's card” and a “bonus numbers” area on the front of each ticket with numbers on any of the “playing cards” printed on the ticket. If the numbers that match form lines or certain patterns, the player wins a prize.

Clark claimed the 15th top prize in the game. Seven top prizes of $25,000 are still up for grabs in it, as well as 11 prizes of $7,777, 23 prizes of $2,500, 19 prizes of $777 and hundreds of smaller prizes.

Since the Iowa Lottery's inception in 1985, more than $2.2 billion has been awarded in prizes and more than $1.1 billion has been raised for state programs.
