DES MOINES, Iowa – A Des Moines man has won the top prize of $30,000 playing the lottery's "Superstar Cash" instant-scratch game.

Harold Freeborn claimed his prize Monday at the Iowa Lottery's headquarters in Des Moines. He bought his winning ticket at Git-N-Go, 4224 N.W. Second St. in Des Moines.

Superstar Cash is a $3 scratch game. Players try to win a prize by matching "Your Numbers" to the corresponding numbers on the "Super Star." If players match all of the numbers in a horizontal line, they win the prize shown for that line. Players can win bonus money by uncovering "$" symbols. Prizes in the game range from $3 to $30,000. The game has overall odds of winning of 1 in 3.78.

Four top prizes of $30,000 are still available in Superstar Cash, as well as four prizes of $5,000 and more than 60 prizes of $500.

Since the Iowa Lottery's inception in 1985, more than $2.4 billion has been awarded in prizes and more than $1.2 billion has been raised for state programs.
