Tim Gray Wins Top Prize Playing "Crossword" Scratch Game
DES MOINES, Iowa - A Harlan man kept it quiet after he won $30,000 playing the lottery's "Crossword" instant-scratch game.
Tim Gray, 42, said he was at work when he scratched the ticket and realized he had won the top prize. Gray is employed at Shelby County Cookers in Harlan.
He said he didn't plan to tell anyone about his big win until after he visited the lottery's Council Bluffs office on May 28 to claim his prize. He said after that he'd let his coworkers and his wife in on the big news.
Gray purchased his winning ticket at Kum & Go, 702 Chatburn in Harlan.
