Richard Beck Wins Top Prize Playing "Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game"
DES MOINES, Iowa - A Benton County man said he feels blessed after winning the top prize of $100,000 playing "Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game."
Richard Beck, 65, said had he known he had the winning ticket, he wouldn't have waited ten days to have it validated.
"As windy as it was yesterday, I'm lucky it didn't blow out the window of my van," Beck said to lottery staff as he claimed his prize Wednesday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.
Beck, who is from Belle Plaine, said he considers himself to be pretty lucky.
"I'm very blessed, let's put it that way," he said.
Beck said he has told a few of his family and friends and that they're all very excited for him.
"They've all been really nice to me," he said with a laugh.
Beck said he is a big saver and plans to put his winnings in the bank until he can decide what to use the money for.
He purchased his winning ticket at Citgo, 200 Hwy. 151 E. in Walford.
