Karl Haugen Wins the Top Prize Playing "Crossword" Scratch Game
DES MOINES, Iowa - A Cedar Falls man won the top prize of $30,000 playing the lottery's "Crossword" instant-scratch game for the second time in two months.
Karl Haugen first won playing the lottery's 'blue/green' Crossword game. And now he's claimed his second $30,000 prize, this time playing the 'plaid' Crossword game, Friday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. Haugen purchased his winning ticket at Five Corners Liquor, 809 East 18th St. in Cedar Falls.
