Lottery's 'Great State Tailgate' Promotion Offers Ultimate Tailgating Experience

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Lottery is offering sports fans the chance to have the ultimate tailgating experience.

The $2 "Great State Tailgate" instant-scratch game will debut Monday and along with it, the lottery is kicking off a new promotion by the same name. Iowa Lottery VIP Club members can enter non-winning tickets in the game for a chance to win a towable tailgate trailer valued at $22,000 or one of five cash prizes of $1,000. The grand prize tailgate comes fully equipped with:

• 42-inch LCD HDTV with a cable receiver and HD auto satellite antennae
• theater system with mp3 connectability
• hitch-mounted tailgating gas grill and 54-qt. cooler on full slide system
• 1000-watt portable generator
• 30-amp electrical panel box and much more!

The winner of the tailgate will also be able to customize the artwork on the outside of it to fit his/her specifications.

"Iowans love to celebrate and support their favorite team by socializing with friends before a game, and we want to give them the opportunity for the ultimate tailgating experience," said Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich. "We're looking forward to hearing how players would customize the trailer, too."

To give people the chance to see the tailgate in person, lottery staff will take it to 11 home football games throughout the 2011 season at the University of Iowa, University of Northern Iowa and Iowa State University. A list of all the games where the trailer can be seen is available on the promotions page of the lottery's website, www.ialottery.com. Players can also bring any non-winnning scratch tickets with them to the 11 games for a chance to spin the Lottery wheel to win a prize.

The entry period for the Great State Tailgate promotion runs through noon on Dec. 6. To enter the promotion, Iowa Lottery players must join or already be a member of the VIP Club. On the Great State Tailgate promotion page on the VIP Club website, players will be asked to enter their name, street address, telephone number and the entry code number and serial number from a non-winning Great State Tailgate scratch ticket. A different non-winning scratch ticket must be used for each entry.

The promotion drawing will be held Dec. 8 and winners' information will be posted on the lottery's website that same day.

A few requirements to keep in mind:

• You can only enter the promotion via the lottery's website. Hand-delivered or mailed entries will not be accepted.
• You must use your street address when entering the promotion - P.O. Box addresses will not be valid.
• You can use each ticket only once as an eligible entry.
• And, while you can enter multiple times, you can win only one prize in the promotion.
