Marion Man Discovers $30,000-Winning Ticket From Last July

Charles "Richard" Crawford Claims Prize from July 28, 2010, Hot Lotto® Drawing

Charles "Richard" Crawford

DES MOINES, Iowa - A Marion man won a $30,000 prize in the July 28, 2010, Hot Lotto® drawing and has just come forward to claim the prize.

Charles "Richard" Crawford claimed his prize Friday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. He purchased his winning ticket at Woody's One Stop, 510 First Ave. in Springville.

The winning numbers in the $3.91 million Hot Lotto jackpot drawing on July 28, 2010, were: 3-10-19-22-28 and Hot Ball 2. There was no jackpot winner for that drawing.

Hot Lotto players choose five numbers from a pool of 39 and another number, called the Hot Ball, from a pool of 19. The Hot Lotto jackpot starts at $1 million and grows until someone wins it. Tickets in the game cost $1. Hot Lotto drawings are held at about 9:40 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays, just before the Powerball drawings.

Players can multiply their non-jackpot prizes by three with the Hot Lotto Sizzler® option. The cost is $1 per play. Prizes are always tripled with the Hot Lotto Sizzler.

Hot Lotto players have 365 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. Crawford's ticket would have expired on July 28 had he not come forward to claim the prize.
