DES MOINES, Iowa - After playing the same set of numbers on his "Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game" ticket for many years, a Cedar Rapids man won a top prize of $100,000.

Max Morgan, 85, said he randomly chose a set of numbers to play several years ago and was surprised when he saw he'd matched all five numbers in the Nov. 8 drawing.

"I've been playing those same numbers for a long, long time but I was still surprised," Morgan said.

The first person Morgan told was his son, followed by his stepdaughter and his sister.

"They think it's really special for me," he said.

Morgan said he's thinking about using some of his winnings to purchase a condominium. He claimed his prize Nov. 9 at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.

Morgan purchased his winning ticket at Hy-Vee, 1843 Johnson Ave. N.W. in Cedar Rapids.
