DES MOINES, Iowa - A West Branch woman couldn't believe her eyes when she sat down to scratch off her "Holiday Bonus Crossword" ticket and saw she'd won a top prize of $50,000.

Marcia Davidson, 49, sat in disbelief at her kitchen table when she discovered she'd won such a big prize playing her favorite scratch game.

"I was home by myself," Davidson said. "I kept thinking I had done something wrong."

After she counted the words a few times, Davidson called her husband to tell him the good news.

"I said, 'When you get home you need to look at this. I think I won, but I can't believe it,'" she said.

Davidson said she'd also told other family and friends, and after the initial shock they're all happy for her.

Davidson purchased her ticket at Delimart, 2410 Mormon Trek Blvd. in Iowa City. Davidson is a clerk at a convenience store in that area.

"I've got one thing I want to pay off, but most of it is going in the savings account," she said.
