DES MOINES, Iowa - A Council Bluffs man received a "MONOPOLY™" scratch ticket in his stocking that won him a $50,000 prize.
Zachary Fauble's mom had stuck the $5 ticket in his stocking, not knowing how much it was actually worth.
"I had no idea," he said. "I just tried not to pass out."
Fauble, 21, currently works for Volkswagen as a technician but said he's not planning to purchase a new vehicle with his winnings.
"We were all sitting around opening gifts and I got the MONOPOLY in my stocking," Fauble said.
Fauble said his sister received $6 in scratch tickets, so initially he was bummed he only received one $5 card.
"I think I came out on top, though," Fauble said with a laugh as he claimed his prize Tuesday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Council Bluffs.
Fauble said he plans to put his winnings into savings for now.
The winning ticket was purchased at Super Saver, 1141 N. Broadway in Council Bluffs.
