DES MOINES, Iowa - A Plattsmouth, Neb. woman decided to stop for a lottery ticket after work and ended up winning a top prize of $25,000 playing the lottery's "Lucky Jar Bingo" instant-scratch game.

Angela Hernandez, 34, was on her way home from Rick's Boatyard Café in Omaha when she stopped for a ticket.

"I took it home and scratched it off and won!" Hernandez said. "I was all by myself. I didn't think it was real, so I kept checking it and checking it."

Hernandez didn't believe what she was seeing, so she took the ticket back to Kum & Go, 2024 Fifth Ave. in Council Bluffs where she purchased it to have it validated.

"I said, 'I think it's pretty big,'" she said. "He scanned it, looked at me and gave me a high five."

Hernandez said she called her brother first to tell him the good news.

"He said, 'You've got to be kidding me!'" she said.

Hernandez said she planned to take some time to think about what she wants to do with her winnings.

"I don't want to hurry up and spend it all right away," she said.

Hernandez claimed her prize Jan. 23 at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Council Bluffs.
