DES MOINES, Iowa - A Waterloo man won his second top prize of $100,000 playing his own numbers in "Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game" in just three months.

Juan Tobar, 82, won his first prize in November 2011 and was very grateful to have won the prize a second time.

"I'm so lucky. The money will help pay for my house and help others," Tobar said.

Tobar said he enjoys playing lotto games, and visits the same retailer each time. He purchased his winning ticket at Hy-Vee, 4000 University Ave. in Waterloo.

"It's nice to be a winner again," Tobar said. "Only one person knows at Hy-Vee this time. They're going to be surprised."

Tobar said his first $100,000 prize is still sitting in his bank account, but he's still making the same plans.

"This is going to help pay bills and help my brother, like I said before," he said.

Tobar said he chooses his own numbers and uses a different set each time he plays Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game.

"I never tell anybody. I keep the secret so they can get excited when they find out," he said.

Tobar claimed his prize Wednesday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.

Players in Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game choose five numbers from a pool of 35. Tickets in the game cost $1 and drawings are held at 8:28 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The odds of winning the game's top prize are 1 in 324,632.

Tobar matched all five numbers in Monday's drawing of Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game to win his $100,000 prize. The winning numbers that day were: 5-8-13-17-30.
