DES MOINES, Iowa - A Fairfax woman decided to see what her coworkers loved so much about the lottery's "North Pole Bingo" instant-scratch game and ended up winning a top prize of $25,000.

Natasha Schrage, 28, said her coworkers play the lottery's Bingo games but she had never tried it. So when she and her husband, Travis, stopped for gas at Kwik Shop, 301 E. Blairs Ferry Road in Hiawatha, she decided to try it.

"I thought that I had won $25," Schrage said. "I was like, 'Oh! I won $25!' Then I looked at it again and was like, 'Oh, look at this.' And I gave it to my husband. And he's like, 'No, I think you won twenty-five thousand!'"

Schrage, who is an administrative assistant at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, took her ticket back to the store to have it validated. She said she didn't get much sleep before claiming her prize Dec. 3 at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.

"I didn't sleep at all last night because I was so nervous," she said.

Schrage told her mom about her big win, but had to prove that it was real.

"She didn't believe me at first," Schrage said.

She and Travis are planning to pay a few bills and take a trip with the winnings.
