DES MOINES, Iowa - Two western Iowa men are splitting a $40,000 Powerball prize they won in Wednesday's drawing.

Doug Kuhl of Vail and Oran Kohorst of Arcadia claimed their prize Friday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Storm Lake. The men purchased their winning ticket at Westside Food Mart, 100 Eagle St. in Westside.

They came close to winning it all in Wednesday's Powerball drawing, matching four of the first five numbers and the Powerball to win a $10,000 prize. But they also had added the Power Play to their ticket, which multiplied their prize to $40,000.

The winning numbers in Wednesday's $261.6 million Powerball drawing were: 13-14-17-43-54 and Powerball 15. No one won the jackpot that night, so it has grown to an estimated $320 million for Saturday's drawing.

Players can increase their prizes with the Power Play (except the jackpot). The cost is $1 per play.
