DES MOINES, Iowa - A Linn County woman has won a $25,000 lottery prize.

Dawn Pisney of Lisbon claimed the first of 24 top prizes of $25,000 available in the lottery's new "Bingo Boxes" instant-scratch game.

"I was like, freaking out. I didn't know what to do," Pisney said.

Pisney, a first assistant at Road Ranger convenience store in Cedar Rapids, said she thought she'd only won $550 at first. So she tried to cash her ticket at Hy-Vee Drugstore, 4825 Johnson Ave. in Cedar Rapids where she'd originally purchased it.

"I went to go cash it in and it was $25,000," Pisney said. "I got the 'X.'"

Pisney, 22, claimed her prize Thursday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. She said the win still hadn't sunk in yet. And for now, she plans to put her winnings into savings.

Bingo Boxes is a $2 scratch game. Players try to win a prize by matching numbers in any complete horizontal, vertical or diagonal line, four corners, an "X" pattern or all four numbers in the shaded box patterns in the play area on each ticket. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 3.78.

Twenty-three top prizes of $25,000 are still up for grabs in Bingo Boxes, as well as 47 prizes of $2,500, 44 prizes of $1,000 and hundreds of prizes of $500, $250 and $150.
