DES MOINES, Iowa - A Waterloo man has won a $100,000 lottery prize.

Andrew Boeschen claimed the fifth of six top prizes of $100,000 available in the Iowa Lottery's "Game Book" instant-scratch game.

Boeschen, 40, claimed his prize Friday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. He purchased his winning ticket at Crossroads BP, 2035 E. Mitchell Ave. in Waterloo, where he's co-owner with his brother.

Boeschen said he's seen a few winners at his store on the Game Book and was excited to win one of the game's top prizes.

"I've seen a few $500 winners at the station but nothing this big on the Game Book," he said.

Boeschen said he already felt fortunate, even before his big win.

"I'm lucky. I have three beautiful kids and a great wife!" he said.

Boeschen said the win came at a good time. He and his wife, Sara, plan to pay bills and give to their church. They might even take a vacation to Disney World® in Florida, Boeschen added.

"Last year we went to a hotel with a water park. I think we can do a little better than that this year!" he laughed.

Game Book is a $20 scratch game. Players have the chance to win prizes on eight games spread across six pages, all in one book. Each game is played separately. The games available are: "Golden 7s," "Doubling Star Crossword," "Lucky Lines," "Bubble Bucks," "Winning Combination," "Pyramids," "Spin 'n Win" and "$100,000 Explosion." The Game Book will be void if any pages are separated from the book. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 2.52.

One top prize of $100,000 is still up for grabs in Game Book, as well as 17 prizes of $1,000 and hundreds of prizes from $75 to $500.
