DES MOINES, Iowa - A Davenport woman said she's kept her $30,000 win all to herself so far. She wanted to see the ticket validated first to make sure it was real.

"I haven't gone to anybody. I waited to make sure it was verified and I have the check in the bank," Christy Blackert said. "Now I know it's real."

Blackert, 63, claimed the tenth of 12 top prizes of $30,000 available in the Iowa Lottery's "Word Bank" instant-scratch game.

"I've played Word Bank since it came out and really enjoyed it," she said. "Now I really enjoy it."

Blackert claimed her prize Tuesday at the lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. She purchased her winning ticket at Big 10 Mart, 5310 Corporate Park Drive in Davenport.

Now that Blackert knows her win is real, she said her brother is first on the list of people she plans to share the news with.

Blackert, a retired administrative assistant, said she plans to pay some medical bills with her winnings.

"I have no problem finding a place for it to go," Blackert said.

Word Bank is a $3 scratch game. Players scratch the "bank vault letters" area to reveal 18 letters. Then they scratch each letter in the 12 words on the ticket front that corresponds to the "bank vault letters." If a player completes any word using the "bank vault letters," they win the prize shown for that word. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 3.79.

Two top prizes of $30,000 are still up for grabs in Word Bank, as well as three prizes of $3,000 and a couple hundred prizes of $75, $100, $300 and $500.
