Greg Loutzenhiser Wins Top Prize Playing "Lucky Diamonds" Scratch Game

DES MOINES, Iowa - An Ankeny man has won a $250,000 lottery prize.

Greg Loutzenhiser claimed the 13th of 17 top prizes of $250,000 available in the Iowa Lottery's "Lucky Diamonds" instant-scratch game.

Loutzenhiser claimed his prize Wednesday at lottery headquarters in Des Moines. He purchased his winning ticket at Darrah's, 3607 Ninth Ave. in Council Bluffs.

Lucky Diamonds is a $10 scratch game. Players try to match any of "your numbers" to the "winning numbers" in the play area to win the prize shown. Players who find the "double diamond" symbol win double the prize shown. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 3.18.

Four top prizes of $250,000 are still up for grabs in Lucky Diamonds, as well as 20 prizes of $5,000 and 253 prizes of $500.
