DES MOINES, Iowa - An Appanoose County woman said she stared at her winning lottery ticket for a time before she could believe that she'd won a $100,000 prize.

Holly Dyke of Udell won the second of 10 top prizes of $100,000 available in the Iowa Lottery's "Blazing Hot 7s Game Book" instant-scratch game. Dyke, a waitress, said she initially didn't realize how much she had won.

"I just took it home and I scratched it and I stared at it for a little while," Dyke, 23, said. "I wasn't sure if I was right and I didn't want to make a fool of myself."

Dyke claimed her prize Monday at the Iowa Lottery's headquarters in Des Moines. She purchased her winning ticket at Casey's, 109 E. Walnut St., in Bloomfield.

Once Dyke knew she had a winning ticket, she called her family and friends to share the news. She said she plans to save the majority of her winnings after first paying off some bills.

"Everyone's real happy for me and they're just glad that it happened to someone they knew," she said.

Blazing Hot 7s Game Book, a $20 instant-scratch ticket, is the second game book product offered by the lottery. Each ticket in the game is actually a booklet with multiple games spread across six pages. The game's top prize is $100,000 and players can win multiple times in each booklet.

Blazing Hot 7s Game Book tickets will be void if any pages are separated from the book. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 2.52.

Eight top prizes of $100,000 are still up for grabs in Blazing Hot 7s Game Book, along with nine prizes of $10,000, 451 prizes of $1,000 and thousands of prizes from $75 to $500.
