DES MOINES, Iowa - A Johnson County man has won a $20,000 lottery prize.

Tyrone James of Solon claimed the first of 10 top prizes of $20,000 available in the Iowa Lottery's new "Hot Card" instant scratch game.

James claimed his prize Friday at the lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. He purchased his winning ticket at Sam's Main Street Market, 123 E. Main St., in Solon.

Hot Card is a $2 scratch game. Players scratch the "winning cards" and "your cards" in the playing area on each ticket. If any of "your cards" match the "winning cards," the player wins the prize shown. If a player uncovers a "star" symbol, they win double the prize shown. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 3.89.

Nine top prizes of $20,000 are still up for grabs in Hot Card, as well as 126 prizes of $300 and 283 prizes of $100.
