Ray Crocheck   Hear Ray tell his story.

DES MOINES, Iowa - A Boone man said he recently checked several Powerball tickets from past drawings at a local convenience store and discovered he had won a $10,000 lottery prize.

"I just buy the tickets, stick them in my billfold and every once in a while I check them out," Ray Crocheck said. "I was pretty surprised when it said $10,000 that's for sure."

Crocheck matched four white balls and the Powerball in the Nov. 20 drawing to win a $10,000 lottery prize. He claimed his prize Nov. 27 at the Iowa Lottery's headquarters in Des Moines.

The winning numbers in the $40 million Powerball jackpot drawing on Nov. 20 were 4-18-23-32-45 and Powerball 7. The jackpot has grown to an estimated $81 million for tonight's drawing.

Crocheck purchased his winning ticket at Hy-Vee, 1111 Eighth St. in Boone. He said he had the clerk check his ticket several times before he started to celebrate.

"I'm a pretty lucky guy because I didn't ever think I'd ever win," he said.

Crocheck said he plans to use his lottery winnings to remodel his bathroom.
