DES MOINES, Iowa - A Nebraska man had an extra reason to celebrate on Valentine's Day, claiming a $500,000 Iowa Lottery prize.
Troy Panagiotis of Omaha, Neb., claimed the third of eight top prizes of $500,000 available in the lottery's "500 Grand" instant-scratch game. Panagiotis claimed his prize Thursday afternoon at the Iowa Lottery's headquarters in Des Moines. He had purchased his winning ticket at Bucky's Express, 1759 Madison Ave. in Council Bluffs.
