DES MOINES, Iowa – A Charles City man won the top prize of $30,000 playing the lottery's "Instant Cash Keno" instant-scratch game.

Alberto Martinez claimed his prize Monday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Mason City. He bought his winning ticket at Casey's, 1105 Blunt Pkwy. in Charles City.

Instant Cash Keno is a $3 scratch game. Players win a prize by matching the "Keno numbers" to the numbers in Games 1 - 6. If a player matches the appropriate numbers in each individual game, they win the corresponding prize shown for that game. Players scratch the bonus box and if they find any prize amount, they win that amount.

Five prizes of $30,000 are still up for grabs in Instant Cash Keno as well as 7 prizes of $5,000, more than 165 prizes of $200 and more than 405 prizes of $100.

Since the Iowa Lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $2.4 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $1.2 billion for state programs.
