First Top Prize Claimed In New 'Betty Boop™ LIMITED' Scratch Game

Kris Gilley of Humboldt Wins $10,000 Lottery Prize

DES MOINES, Iowa - The first of 14 top prizes of $10,000 in the Iowa Lottery's new "Betty Boop™ LIMITED" instant-scratch game was claimed Monday by a northern Iowa man.

Kris Gilley of Humboldt claimed his prize at the lottery's regional office in Storm Lake. He purchased his winning ticket at Casey's, 502 Main St. in Dakota City.

Gilley, 24, told lottery employees Monday that he bought the ticket and then gave it to his girlfriend, Stacy Lynn Arnold, to scratch it while he left to go see a friend. Arnold called him about five minutes later to say they had won $10,000, Gilley said.

Gilley, who works as a technician at Pioneer Hybrid International, said some of his lottery winnings will be used to help pay for a previously planned trip to Salt Lake City, and the rest will be saved.

Betty Boop™ LIMITED is a $2 scratch game. Players win a prize by matching “Your Numbers” to either "Winning Number." If a player reveals the "BB" symbol, he or she wins double the prize shown for that symbol. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 3.72.

Thirteen top prizes of $10,000 are still up for grabs in Betty Boop™ LIMITED as well as 306 prizes of $200 and 398 prizes of $100.
