Terrence Schnoor Wins Top Prize In "Betty Boop™ Limited" Scratch Game

DES MOINES, Iowa - A Maquoketa man said he stopped at a local grocery store to pick up a few things and an instant-scratch game caught his eye.

Terrence Schnoor, 35, bought a "Betty Boop™ Limited" scratch ticket June 6 at Fareway, 110 Westgate Drive in Maquoketa and ended up winning the sixth of 14 top prizes of $10,000 available in the game.

"I couldn't believe it," Schnoor told lottery employees as he claimed his prize Monday at the lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. "I had to look at the numbers a couple of times."

Schnoor, who works at IBM in Dubuque, said he went straight home and shared his good new with his fiancee, Angie.

"I came home and showed her and she couldn't believe it either," he said.

Family members were also in disbelief, Schnoor said.

"They thought, 'You better check that ticket again,'" he said.

Schnoor said his lottery winnings will be used to pay bills and buy a backyard swimming pool for his children, ages 11 and 2.

Betty Boop™ Limited is a $2 scratch game. Players win a prize by matching "Your Numbers" to either "Winning Number." If a player reveals the "BB" symbol, he or she wins double the prize shown for that symbol. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 3.72.

Eight top prizes of $10,000 are still up for grabs in Betty Boop™ Limited, as well as 193 prizes of $200 and 259 prizes of $100.
