DES MOINES, Iowa - An Ottumwa man has won a $10,000 lottery prize.

James Ash claimed the eighth of nine prizes of $10,000 available in the Iowa Lottery's "Cash Inferno" instant-scratch game.

Ash claimed his prize Monday at the lottery's headquarters in Des Moines. He purchased his winning ticket at North Court BP, 1301 N. Court St. in Ottumwa.

Cash Inferno is a $10 scratch game. Players scratch the "lucky symbols" and "your symbols" in each row. If a player matches the "2X, 5X or 10X your symbols" to the "lucky symbol," they win two, five or 10 times the prize shown for that row. Each row is played separately. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 3.11.

Two top prizes of $100,000 are still up for grabs in Cash Inferno, as well as one prize of $10,000, 30 prizes of $1,000 and hundreds of prizes from $100 to $300.
