DES MOINES, Iowa - A Fort Dodge man won a top prize of $30,000 playing the lottery's "Holiday Crossword" instant-scratch game.

Bill Woehl claimed his prize Wednesday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Storm Lake. He purchased his winning ticket at The Station, 2320 N. 15th St. in Fort Dodge.

Since the lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $3 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $1.4 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.
