Before you get your first cinnamon roll or coffee, you'll see us on Aug. 7!
The Iowa Lottery is the sponsor of opening day, Aug. 7, at the 2014 Iowa State Fair! Arrive between 5 and 9 a.m. to get a free play in the Lottery's newest lotto game, All or Nothing™. We'll be at four of the Fair's main admission gates (Gates 4, 8, 11 and 15) handing out free play coupons, just look for our signs. As long as you're at least 21 years old, you'll get a free play while supplies last. If you haven't played All or Nothing yet, it's a lotto game where you choose 12 of 24 numbers for a chance to win $100,000 by matching all the numbers or none of them -- you win either way! There are eight other prize levels in the game, too, so be sure to check your tickets for all of them!
After you collect your free play coupon, get your boots up to Expo Hill before 9 a.m. to see WHO Radio's Van & Bonnie broadcasting live and enter the Iowa Lottery's contests for a chance to win $100 cash and prize packages to the Lady Antebellum concert on Aug. 16. Each Lady Antebellum concert prize pack sets you up with two tickets to the group's Grandstand concert, Fair admission for two, a parking pass, $30 in Fair food tickets and a lottery swag bag. What more do you need? You don't have to be present to win, but you might want to stick around to see all the fun!
For more details, view the State Fair Contests Rules.
Not an early riser? You can enjoy discounted admission to the Fair until noon on Aug. 7 with the coupon from the Aug. 3 edition of the Des Moines Sunday Register.
One thing for fair-goers to note: The lottery will not have a booth in the Varied Industries Building during this year's State Fair. With the upcoming move to its new headquarters location in Clive, the lottery needs to dedicate additional resources to that project, so it won't have a booth this time around.
The Iowa Lottery's excited to be the Fair's opening day sponsor this year. We hope to see you on Aug. 7! For further information see our press release.Return to top↑
