Now you can receive text messages on your text-enabled cell phone about the next Powerball jackpot, winning numbers from the latest drawings and other promotional announcements!

Please make sure your cell phone is available before entering your 10-digit, text-enabled cell phone number. Subscribers will be required to verify their birth date.

Subscribers can use their text-enabled cell phone.  The following keywords are available:

• Select NUMBERS for twice weekly updates Thursday at 8:00 AM and Sunday at 10:00 AM with the winning numbers for Powerball and Hot Lotto plus jackpot amounts. Mega Millions winning numbers and jackpot amounts will be sent on Wednesday at 8:00 AM and Saturday at 10:00 AM.
• Select ALERT for updates on Wednesday and Saturday at 11:00 AM when the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpot is $100 million or more.
• Select PROMO for periodic announcements about new games, promotions and special events.
• Select IALOT for all text messages originated by the Iowa Lottery.

Note:  Some mobile phones automatically insert the term "RE:" in the subject line of messages that are sent in reply to incoming texts. Having any information in the subject line can interfere with the software used to sign up for the lottery's text-messaging service, leaving you unable to complete the process. However, there is a simple fix:

If you do not receive a welcome message after you have sent a text providing your age and birth date for age verification, please check to see if your phone or mobile device is automatically insert "RE:" in the subject line of replies. If it is, simply access the subject line and delete the "RE:" before you send the text so that the subject line is clear.
